Comic Review: God Complex

God Complex

God Complex

Greek gods with a modern twist is the idea behind Image’s God Complex. Written by Michael Avon Oeming (Powers, Highlander) and Daniel Berman (Six, Blood River) and illustrated by John Broglia(Denali, Atomic Robo Presents Real Science Adventures).

Paul is a normal guy living in New York City. He works as a dishwasher in a local Greek restaurant and is in love with his coworker. One tiny detail he keeps to him self, he is the god Apollo. To top it off he has run away from his family who happen to be looking for him. It won’t be long before they find him and when they do his mortal life may be in danger.

Cool idea with their take on Greek gods existing in the present as corporate leaders. The artwork feels reminiscent of Samurai Jack. Great mix of modern setting with Greek Mythology thrown in.
