Comic Review: Exile To Babylon

Exile To Babylon

Exile To Babylon

In the future the rules have changed, to stop criminals we must use criminals. How could things possibly go wrong? See what the future holds in this Dark Horse title written by David Lapham and illustrated by Patric Reynolds.

The year is 2040 and the world is not what it used to be. Gas is at an all time low with most people having only enough to get to work and back. With crime on the rise a new group called The Blackshield Angel’s have taken to the streets. They consist of former criminals who had a choice, go to jail or join Blackshield. When a fuel supply is taken over by criminals it will take Blackshield’s top agent to bring them down.

I had high hopes for this series, artwork was appealing and the first issue got me hooked. But, after I read the whole book I was extremely disappointed. Despite enjoying the artwork many of the criminals were hard to tell apart. The idea for the future world is never properly explored just explained enough so you know whats going on. When it comes to advancing the plot, it seems they just go to places with out explaining how and why they are there. Don’t take my word for it though as it may be your cup of tea.
