The Walking Dead, Volume 1: Days Gone Bye

If you’ve seen the show but haven’t started the comic you are definitely one lucky person for all the things that lie ahead. The Walking Dead is published by Image Comics, written by Robert Kirkman (Battle Pope, Marvel Zombies) and drawn by Tony Moore (The Exterminators, Punisher).

Waking up all alone we find Rick Grimes confused and scared in a hospital full of zombies. This is the beginning of an apocalyptic tale of survival that shows us the consequences of our actions.

Normally I’m not a big fan of black and white but I find my self really drawn to the detailed artwork. If it ended up in color I think it would have been too much of a good thing. Kirkman as always dishes out the dialogue in a way that makes zombies a side note in favor of what the people are going through. It’s the end of the world — expect people to act accordingly.
