Image Comics Sidekick #1

Captain America had Bucky. Batman had Robin. Scooby Doo had Shaggy and Bullwinkle had Rocky.  What do these heroes all have in common, sidekicks!  Now can you imagine what happens to the sidekick once the main hero is gone?

J Michael Straczynski’s (Amazing Spider-man, Midnight Nation) newest series, Sidekick, explores how sidekick, Flyboy, deals with the aftermath of the assassination of Cowl, a beloved hero of the masses. Already well known as a writer who thinks outside the realm traditional comic book storytelling,  Straczynski  has crafted a well written story with twists and turns reminiscence of a roller coaster ride.  The artwork is by Tom Mandrake (Swamp Thing, Grimjack).  Judging by the first issue, this series is definitely living up to the reputation of Straczynski rock solid hits. I can’t wait till issue 2 when it comes out!
